Shop and sell

We are having the front of the house decorated at the moment and it made me realise what a difference the outdoor furniture can make to the overall appearance. Especially as we may be selling up, it is important to have that crucial 'kerb appeal'. That means nice painted front doors, and smart residential mailboxes. They are quite a new idea over here, but I can see the sense in having a separate mailbox at home in the same way that companies have commercial mailboxes.

Well I started browsing online and I found an e-shop called mailboxixchange with more than 1500 designs of mailboxes to choose from. I found some excellent designs, to suit all kinds of houses, and I spent a long time looking as they were very attractive. Then I found the cute one shown in the picture with a picture of the dog on the front! This is much against my normal taste, but as a dog lover I just could not resist.

So, back to work: I had spent ages choosing a mailbox, but then I noticed that Mailboxixchange also has an affiliate program, so I am going to join that and promote these designs on my websites. There is a $20 sign-up bonus for new affiliates, as well.

College money

Lots of our friends have children who are either about to go to University, or are already there and they all have to deal with the issue of how to finance their studies. There is a standard set of financing options available at the beginning of the course but later on, the loan repayments can become unmanageable. When they have raised Private Student Loans and later on they start a job, get married, etc, their finances have to stretch a bit further: that is when people think about Student Loan Consolidation. Thngs can also get just as difficult for their parents who may have raised their Parent Plus Loans, if circumstances change a couple of years down the line.

The options with Student Loan Consolidation are very useful: they help the student, graduate or parent to reduce their monthly outgoings as well as roll all the loans up into one single transaction making it much easier to predict expenses and set a realistic budget.

Several of our acquaintances have already got advice on their Student Loan Consolidation options, and they are much happier with their financial positions - they can even start thinking about spending a little cash left over at the end of each month. That is, after all, the reason why you study for a degree!

Flu help

I was at the doctor's surgery this week and I saw notices advertising the Flu Vaccine clinic. I know loads of people who have attended for the vaccine and ended up getting a really bad bout of influenza, maybe worse than if they had not been vaccinated in the first place. There is another source of protection against Winter ills that is becoming increasingly popular as a natural way of increasing your defences. Colloidal silver is seen by many as a powerful prophylactic, using this precious source of healing to help strengthen the body's immune system. When you are looking for colloidal silver, make sure that you are buying true colloidal silver, not a cheap impure version. Colloid means silver particles, not silver ions: many products that claim to be colloidal silver are actually composed of less effective ionic silver. You can find guaranteed pure products with the largest surface area for maximum effectiveness at purestcolloids.com.

Outdoor idea

This year I finally decided to invest in some decent garden furniture. No matter that we have had the worst summer for years, I am still glad that I did so. The old furniture was made from that plastic compound that is pretty indestructible but never actually looks very good - the new teak furniture is as classy as anything I have ever bought for the dining room, and rightly so. After all, as the garden designers constantly tell us, the garden is an extension of the indoor living area and we should make the most of it. Over here the room sizes in new houses are getting much smaller, to the extent where you really cannot swing a cat. So by buying teak patio furniture we can make the garden as comfortable and attractive as possible to extend our living space. In fact we have decided that our teak patio furniture will be brought inside the house at Christmas to accommodate the extra guests - I would never have done that with the old stuff!

Document Scanning Service for efficiency

I can remember quite clearly the first time I noticed an organisation using a Document Scanning Service to further improve the organisation's workflow and overall efficiency. This happened at a consultation with my General Practitioner and he viewed the screen of his personal computer to see the correspondence from the hospital consultant. The practice makes sure that all these hard copy letters are scanned in upon receipt and then the paper version is tied up in the bundle of patient notes. What refreshing efficiency from the National Health Service, I thought.
You can see how much time and confusion can be saved by using this type of Document Scanning Service if you have ever arrived for a medical appointment, only to be told that your notes have been lost. Now the doctor or technician can see all relevant information on-screen. This document scanning can be put into practice in other areas of business and even in dealing with your own paperwork. Your receipts and accounts, which take up a lot of room in a filing cabinet, can be stored digitally for easy access when you working on your accounts at teh end of the tax year. Never hunt around for that lots VAT receipt again!
